Two-bedroom stays in Sun Valley: three to compare

If you want two bedrooms in Sun Valley proper, start with three condos we manage: Stunning Elkhorn Condo with Sauna, Hot Tub, + More! in Summit One, Wildflower Stay | Walk to Lodge + Resort Life a short stroll from the Lodge, and Sun Valley Basecamp | Ski, Golf + Explore, tucked among the aspens in Elkhorn above the 9th fairway. All three are two-bedroom, two-bath condos sleeping six. Which one you want has almost nothing to do with the bedroom count and everything to do with whether you'd rather walk to the Pavilion or wake up to a golf course and drive the four minutes into Ketchum.
That is the real decision here. Sun Valley sits about two miles east of Ketchum on Highway 75, a four- or five-minute drive, and the valley is small enough that nothing is far from anything. What changes between neighborhoods is what you can reach on foot before you've had coffee.
Elkhorn versus the Village: the choice that actually shapes the week
Elkhorn is the quieter side. Both the Summit One condo and Sun Valley Basecamp sit in it, among aspens and golf holes, with the Mountain Rides bus running free into the main attractions. The Summit One unit shares only one wall, which is the closest thing to a standalone house you'll find at this size, and it's within walking distance of the golf course and the tennis and pickleball courts. Basecamp looks out over the 9th fairway, and the drive to Sun Valley Village, Dollar Mountain, Baldy and downtown Ketchum is short in each direction.
The Wildflower community plays differently. From Wildflower Stay you can leave the car alone for days: the Lodge, the resort paths, the tennis courts and, in July and August, the Pavilion where the Sun Valley Music Festival plays are all within walking range. That matters more than it sounds. Parking around the Village on a concert night or a holiday powder morning is the one genuine friction point of a Sun Valley trip, and walking past it is a real luxury.
Three sleep six, and that changes who should book them
Each of these three condos is two bedrooms, two baths, sleeping six. A family of four has room to breathe. A family of six fits, with someone in the flexible sleeping space rather than a third bedroom, so if your group includes two sets of adults who both want a door that closes, you are looking at the wrong size of home.
That's worth saying plainly because two-bedroom listings in this valley commonly cap at four, and ours at this size do not. If you're a couple travelling with grandparents, or two parents with three kids, the difference between a four-sleeper and a six-sleeper is the difference between one rental and two.
If the point of the trip is skiing
Dollar Mountain and Bald Mountain are two separate hills about ten minutes apart by car, and that gap is the thing to plan around. Baldy is the serious mountain, with a long consistent pitch and more than a hundred runs. Dollar is where beginners and lessons and the terrain parks live. A family with one new skier and one teenager chasing laps on Baldy will be splitting up most mornings, so the question is which base you want to be nearest.
For Dollar-first trips, Wildflower Stay and Sun Valley Basecamp both put you minutes from it. If being near the lift matters more than anything else, though, the honest answer is that our closest Dollar property is bigger: The Liftline Condo at Snowcreek borders the mountain and sleeps eight, so it's a step up in size and cost from a two-bedroom. Worth a look if your group is on the fence about how many beds it needs.
After the skiing, the Summit One condo earns its keep. It has a sauna and a hot tub, which is the correct order of operations on a cold evening, and a garage, which means not scraping windshields at seven in the morning.
Summer is the busier season, and the valley is built for it
Wildflower Stay is a short walk from the Pavilion, and the Music Festival runs through July and August. The paved Wood River Trail runs roughly twenty miles through the valley, linking Sun Valley and Ketchum down to Hailey and Bellevue, and it's open to bikes in summer and cross-country skis in winter. There are more than four hundred miles of singletrack in the hills above, plus about forty miles of paved path for anyone who'd rather coast.
For hiking from these condos, Proctor Mountain starts just over a mile from Sun Valley Village and loops about four and a half miles in a couple of hours. The White Clouds trailhead is directly across from the Sun Valley Lodge. Adams Gulch, the busy and sociable one, is north of Ketchum: head up Highway 75 a mile and a half, turn at Adams Gulch Road, and the trailhead is less than a mile in, with parking and restrooms.

What a Summit One week looks like versus a Basecamp week
The Summit One condo suits the trip where you want the home itself to be the evening plan. One shared wall, a sauna, a hot tub, a garage, the bus stop within walking distance for free rides to the main attractions. You can play golf or pickleball without driving, then cook and stay in.
Basecamp is the completely updated one, with a dedicated workspace for anyone extending a trip into a working week, and fairway and mountain views out the windows. It's the quietest of the three in feel: removed, but a few minutes from everything, which in a valley this compact is not a compromise.
Wildflower Stay suits the trip where the car stays parked. Morning coffee, a loop around the resort paths while the light hits Baldy, a tennis match happening just outside the door, and a walk to the Pavilion when the sun drops.
If two bedrooms turns out to be one too few
It happens more often than you'd think: the plan is four people, then cousins join. Three-bedroom condos in Elkhorn like Peaceful Elkhorn Aspen Retreat also sleep six, so you get a third door without a jump in capacity. Stylish Sun Valley Condo w/ Resort Access! at Dollar Meadows sleeps six as well and sits a five-minute walk from the Sun Valley Resort and Lodge and Dollar Mountain.
Above that, the group homes start. Indian Springs Retreat sleeps eight in Elkhorn. The Aspen Hideaway sleeps nine, also in Elkhorn, where elk really do move through the open space beyond the houses. The Summit Stay sleeps ten, with an underground garage and an elevator, which is a different kind of relief when you're hauling ski bags.
Before you book, three things worth a message
Community amenities in this valley are seasonal, and that's the detail most likely to catch you out. Pools, hot tubs, saunas, steam rooms, tennis and pickleball courts all run on their own calendars in Elkhorn and in the Sun Valley Village, and some close for stretches in spring and fall. Tell us your dates and we'll tell you what's open.
The other two: bedding configurations vary between these condos, so if you need two twins rather than a king, ask before you book rather than after. And pet policies differ property by property, including an outright no in some homes where owners have allergies.
Book direct with us and you're talking to people who live here. We'll point you at the trailhead that suits your group, book ski rentals or a private chef if you want them, arrange grocery delivery so the fridge is full when you walk in, and pick up the phone at any hour of the night if something goes wrong. Every home in the Sun Valley portfolio is one we manage ourselves, alongside houses in McCall and Stanley.
